In 2003 Badin Historic Museum, Inc., purchased a small lot adjacent to
the proposed quadruplex museum.
Again with the help of generous donors, with grants, and through fundraising,
the Firehouse Musuem was created. A team of volunteers led by David Summerlin,
Jim Harrison, and Larry Drye, did much of the work.
The museum houses the 1937 Ford American LaFrance fire truck,
hose reel, and a display of Badin Fire Department memorabilia. An exhibition
of 250 photographs from ALCOA files depicts the history and development
of the Yadkin/Pee Dee River Valley.
